| Each villa has its own private courtyard entered by way of carved and painted Balinese double doors. Private plunge pools and luxuriant pocket gardens add to the serenity, and the air is always fragrant with the scent of frangipani. In homage to the gods, the Balinese have placed a small temple within each of the villas, and daily offerings of beautifully arranged flowers are made. Though their religion is ancient, the Balinese ideas regarding exploration and enjoyment outdoors are totally current. Scuba diving, whitewater rafting and kayaking are available, plus there is hiking in the mountains, trekking through the rice fields or water skiing on the glassy surface of a volcanic lake. |
