| near the 17th hole, the Chapel by the Sea, this is a favorite location for Hawaiian-style weddings. Kiele's signature hole is the 16th, a tricky par 4 measuring 330 yards. The Pacific borders the left side of the fairway, which slopes downhill to a cliff-hanging green on a small peninsula that juts into the sea. For a pure adrenaline rush, consider a drive to the green. At the very least, you'll thrill to awesome views of Kalapaki Bay. The Lagoons is a gentler layout, in comparison to the Kiele, with its rolling, Scottish-links style. Its open fairways, and few forced carries, conceal the real challenge of the Lagoons Course- the undulating greens- which test even great putters. From its upland vantage point, the course affords outstanding views of Mt. Waialeale, the extinct volcano that first created the island of Kauai. |
