| Wrapped around the perimeter of the hotel are two Ted Robinson designed championship golf courses. Both the Palms Course and the Valley course are truly visual feasts. Each features an abundance of the magnificent waterfalls, pristine lakes and sparkling streams, flowers and palms for which this award-winning architect, is known. A day on either the Palms Course or the Valley Course is both an adventure and a shot making challenge. Ted Robinson's designs incorporate more than thirty-five acres of lagoons, streams and waterfalls that criss-cross Marriott's Desert Springs Resort & Spa, creating a memorable series of hazards and rewards. On the Palms Course nine of the eighteen holes have water coming into play. The seventeenth hole is a 160 yard par 3 with an island green. The Valley Course offers eight holes with water features including another island green on the 316 yard, par 4, sixteenth hole. The sixth hole on the Valley Course features a 222 yard par 3 with water on both sides to the green. Anything short, left or right of the green, is a sure wet. More than a million cubic yards of desert sand were molded and shaped into the hills and valleys that create the Palms Course and the Valley Course. Both offer multiple tee boxes, strategic bunkering and split-level or island greens. Players of the Valley Course and Palms Course are treated to imposing views of the rugged San Jacinto Mountains and Santa Rosa Mountains as they rise dramatically The par 5, 528 yard, first hole on the Palms Course with an afternoon view across the Palm Desert Valley to the Santa Rosa Mountains. |
