Arnie holds the record for most appearances in the Bob Hope Classic with forty, he's the only player to win the tournament on their first entry; the player to win the tournament the most times with 5 wins; and has the second most top ten finishes (11) in the

history of the tournament. Arnie won the Bob Hope Desert Classic in 1960, 1962, 1968, 1971 and again in 1973.
Arnie shot six birdies, 45 pars 19 bogeys and a double bogey over the course of his rounds. He thrilled the fans and had the largest gallery in the event, but unfortunately missed the cut on the final day, finishing 123rd.
