Founded in 1882, Payson is just seventy miles north of the metropolitan Phoenix area in Arizona's spectacular Mogollon Rim Country. Geographically, located at the heart of Arizona, it is a pleasant community filled with quaint shops and family-owned businesses.
Payson has four distinct seasons, yet its mild climate encourages year-round activity. At 5,000 feet in elevation, the town sits along the edge of the largest continuous stand of Ponderosa pine in the United States. The Mogollon Rim, a mountainous plateau at the 7,000 foot elevation, extends for some 200 miles, bathed in vivid pinks, purples and gold, and dominates the landscape.
