In the opening round of the 2001 Office Depot Father-Son Challenge Hale and Steve Irwin took a two
stroke lead by shooting a 13-under-par 59. This was the 3rd time that the Irwins had shot a 59 in the
opening round of the tournament. Finishing in second place were Tom and Eric Weiskopf with an 11-
under-par 61 total. Larry and Josh Nelson and Raymond and Robert Floyd shared third place with 9-
under-par 63s. Finishing in fifth place were Johnny and Scott Miller with an 8-under-par 64 while Hubert
and Myatt Green, Dave and Ron Stockton and Bob and David Charles shared sixth place 1 stroke back.
Tom and David Kite and Tom and Michael Watson took the nineth possition with 6-under-par 66s seven
strokes off the lead.

In the final round Raymond and Robert Floyd shot an 11-under-par 61 to win the tournament for the
fifth time in seven years. The Floyds made up a four stroke deficit and took the lead with a birdie on
the 13th hole to overcome the Irwins by one stroke with a total of 20-under-par 124. Hale and Steve
Irwin took second place with a final round 66 for a 19-under 125 total and $105,000. The Weiskopfs
took third place with a 65 for a 126 total while Johnny and Scott Miller finished in fourth after a final
round 63 a stroke back. Finishing in fifth place were Larry and Josh Nelson with a final round 65 while
the Stadlers took sixth one stroke back with a 129. Seventh place was shared by the Greens and the
Stocktons with 130s for $48,500 apiece while Bob Charles took nineth place at 131. Tenth place was
shared by the Caspers, Kites and Watsons with 12-under-par 132s for $45,000 apiece.
