In the first round of the 2001 Emerald Coast Classic John Schroeder shot a 5-under-par 65 for the lead.
Schroeder made a 70-foot putt from on the third hole and four birdies for a one stroke lead over Mike
Smith. Smith shot a first round 4-under-par 66 for second place. Finishing in third place were Mike
McCullough, Andy North, Gary Player and Bobby Walzel with 3-under-par 67s. Jose Maria Canizares, Jim
Colbert, Walter Hall, Mike Hill, Tom Jenkins and Tom Wargo all shared seventh place with 2-under 68s.

In the second round John Schroeder held onto the lead by shooting a 67 for an 8-under-par 132 total.
Schroeder shot five birdies in his round, including a 40-foot putt on the 18th to keep his lead and two
bogeys. Finishing in second place was Jim Ahern with a 64 for a 7-under-par 133 total. Ahern shot five
birdies including a 30-foot putt on the fourth hole. Third place was held by Mike McCullough and Andy
North both with 68s for 5-under-par 135s. Jose Maria Canizares, Bruce Fleisher and Larry Nelson took
fifth place with 4-under-par 136s while Sammy Rachels and Leonard Thompson shared eight place a
stroke back. Finishing in the tie for tenth place six strokes off the lead were Dave Eichelberger, Graham
Marsh, Bruce Summerhays, Mike Smith and Tom Wargo with 2-under-par 138s.

In the final round on Sunday Mike McCullough and Andy North both shot 65s for 10-under-par 200s
forcing the playoff. McCullough two putted for par on the first playoff hole to defeat North and earn his
second win in a month. McCullough earned $210,000 for his first place finish while Andy North earned
$123,200. Jim Ahern shot a final round 70 for a 7-under-par 203 total and third place. Finishing in
fourth place were Jose Maria Canizares and John Schroeder with 6-under-par 204s for $75,600 apiece.
Finishing in sixth place six strokes off the lead were Bruce Fleisher, Graham Marsh, Gary McCord, Gil
Morgan, Larry Nelson and Tom Wargo with 4-under-par 204s.
