In Thursday's opening round of the Ford Senior Players Championship Hugh Baiocchi, Bruce Fleisher and
John Jacobs all shot 7-under-par 65s to share first place. Three players have not tied for the first-round
lead in this tournament since 1995. Fleisher's round consisted of an eagle and six birdies while Baiocchi's
was his lowest of the season. Finishing in fourth at 6-under-par 66 were Tom Kite, Bob Murpy and Jesse
Patino. Seventh place went to Allen Doyle, Jerry McGee and Leomard Thompson all shooting 5-under-par
67s. Finishing in tenth place was a group of seven that included Hale Irwin, Stewart Ginn and Jim Thorpe
with 4-under-par 68s. The defending champion Hale Irwin was coming off a victory at the US Senior Open
and seeking his second major of the season. The Tournament Players Club is located across from the
headquarters of sponsoring Ford Motor Company.

In Friday's round Hugh Baiocchi held on to his spot in the lead with a 69 while Tom Kite shot 68 to share
first place. Baiocchi and Kite, who is in his first season on the Senior Tour, have two round totals of 10-
under-par 134s for a two stroke lead over Hale Irwin and Dana Quigley. Irwin shot a consecutive 68 while
Quigley shot a 65 after eagleing two of his first seven holes. Finishing in fifth place were Brian Barnes,
Simon Hobday, Jesse Patino and Dave Stockton with 7-under 137s. Stockton, the 1992 and 1994 winner,
shot a 66 while Hobday and Barnes shot 69s. Ninth place went to Ray Floyd, John Jacobs, John Mahaffery,
Bob Murphy and Larry Nelson with 6-under-par 138s. Play was suspended twice Friday due to rain delays,
the first at 3:11pm and the second at 6:40pm.

In the third round Tom Kite took sole possession of the lead shooting a 67 for a 15-under-par 201 total.
Kite shot one bogey in his round for a two stroke lead over Dana Quigley. Quigley shot a 3rd round 67 for
a 13-under-par 203 total and second place. Third place went to Mike McCullough who shot a 67 for a 10-
under-par 206 total. McCullough, playing his 131st straight event, had a one stroke lead over Ray Floyd
and Larry Nelson. Floyd and Nelson both shot third round 69s for 9-under-par 207s. Jesse Patino shot a
71 for sixth while Hugh Baiocchi, Hubert Green, Hale Irwin and John Jacobs had 7-under-par 209s for 7th.
Irwin, the defending champion, shot 73 and Baiocchi, the first and second round leader, shot 75 for their
shares of seventh place.

In Sunday's final round Ray Floyd birdied three of his last four holes for a 6-under-par 66 and his first win
in four years. Floyd had a three round total of 15-under-par 273 earning him $345,000 and his 4th win on
the Senior Tour to match his four on the PGA Tour. Second place went to Larry Nelson and Dana Quigley
with totals of 14-under-par 274. Nelson shot 67 and was forced to finish putting with a 3-iron after bending
his putter in anger on the 11th. Fourth place went to Hale Irwin and Mike McCullough finishing at 13-under
par 275 and earning $124,200. Tom Kite finished in 6th place at 11-under while Jose Maria Canizares and
Tom Jenkins finished two strokes back at 9-under-par 279.
