In the first round of the 2000 SBC Senior Classic Joe Inman shot a 6-under-par 65 for the lead. Inman,
the two time defending champion, began his round with a bogey on the fourth but then finished by
birdying three of his final four holes. Finishing in second place two strokes back were Gary McCord, Mike
McCullough and Gil Morgan with 4-under-par 67s. McCord shot two bogeys and six birdies for his spot in
2nd while McCullough birdied three of his final four holes. Fifth place was shared by Hugh Baiocchi, John
Bland, Ed Dougherty, David Graham, Barry Jaeckel, Tom Kite, Christy O'Connor and Bruce Summerhays
with 3-under-par 68s. The course had softer greens than usual due to the rain that fell Thursday night.

In the second round Joe Inman shot a 68 for a 9-under-par 133 to hold onto the lead. Inman, who was
in route to win the same tournament three years in a row, sunk a 25-foot putt on the 12th for a total of
three birdies. Finishing two strokes back for 2nd was Mike McCullough with a 2nd round 68 for a 7-under
135 total. Third place was shared by Stewart Ginn, Larry Nelson and Jim Thorpe all with 6-under-par 136
totals. Nelson carded the low round of the day, a 64, while Thorpe shot a 66 and Ginn a 67. Finishing in
Sixth place was Barry Jaeckel with a second round 69 for a 5-under 137 total. Hubert Green, Hale Irwin,
Tom Kite, Tom McGinnis and Lee Trevino all shared seventh place with 4-under 138s.

In the final round on Sunday Joe Inman went wire-to-wire with a 65 for a 15-under-par 198 total and his
third straight SBC Senior Classic win. Inman shot a bogey free round with five birdies over the final nine
holes for a three-stroke victory and $210,000. Inman became the fifth player to win the same event
three times in a row in Senior Tour history. Finishing in second place was Larry Nelson with a final round
65 for a 12-under-par 201 total and $123,200. Nelson earned his seventh 2nd-place finish for $123,200
to stay on top of the Sr Tour money list with $2,660,005. Stewart Ginn took third place with a 68 for a 9-
under-par 204 total and $100,800. Finishing in fourth place was Jim Thorpe with a 69 for an 8-under-par
205 with Tom Kite and Christy O'Connor sharing fifth at 7-under. John Bland, Tom McGinnis and Doug
Tewell finished in seventh place with 6-under-par 207s. Finishing in tenth place was Hubert Green with a
final round 70 for a 5-under-par 208 total and $36,400.
