In the first round of the 2000 Foremost Insurance Championship Larry Nelson shot a 6-under-par 66 for
the lead. Nelson shot five birdies and a bogey on the front nine and birdied the last two holes on the back
nine for a two stroke lead over Frank Conner, Ed Dougherty, and Lanny Wadkins. Conner, Dougherty and
Wadkins shot 4-under-par 68s to share second place. Dougherty, the Senior Tour's August player of the
month, had an eagle on the par-5 7th hole. Fifth place was shared by Brian Barnes, Terry Dill, Allen Doyle,
Mike Hill, Terry Mauney, Gary Player and Jim Thorpe with 3-under-par 69s.

In the second round on Saturday Larry Nelson shot a 3-under-par 69 to hold onto the lead by a stroke.
Nelson, winner of last week's tournament, has now shot 19 straight rounds under par and has a two round
total of 9-under-par 135. Second place went to Dave Stockton and Jim Thorpe with 8-under 136s. Stockton
shot a second round 66 while Thorpe, who finished in second place in this tournament this year, shot a 67.
Chuck Moran finished in fourth place at 7-under-par 137 and Al Geiberger and Mike Hill finished one stoke
back at 6-under-par 138. Seventh place went to George Archer, Jim Dent, Allen Doyle, Ed Dougherty, and
Lanny Wadkins with 5-under-par 139s.

In the final round Sunday Larry Nelson shot 9-under-par 63 to win his second straight tournament. Nelson
finished with an 18-under-par 198 total for a three stroke victory and $165,000. Nelson had shot his last
20 rounds under-par and set a new course record with his 9-under 63. Dave Stockton, 1996 tournament
winner, finished in second place with a final round 65 for a 15-under-par 201 total earning him $96,800. Al
Geiberger and Jim Thorpe finished in 3rd at 11-under-par 205 for $72,600 each. Fifth place was shared by
George Archer, Ed Dougherty, Mike Hill, Gary McCord and Jesse Patino all at 8-under-par 208 for $40,480.
